Monday 5 – Actresses (12/03/07)   5 comments

As promised (though it was a couple of weeks ago) The following are my 5 favorite actresses. They arent’t the 5 hottest, or the 5 best, but my 5 favorite, past and present.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are others that I really enjoy watching and think are hella good actresses, but with these 5, if they are in the movie you’ve got a great shot at getting me to sit down and watch it. They are varied and talented ladies and I can’t think of a film or TV show that any of them were in, that I didn’t enjoy.

5 – Helen Hunt

4 – Mae West

3 - Kim Cattrall

2 – Cate Blanchett

1 – Lucille Ball – Who in my opinion never truly got the credit for the amazing actress, or business woman, or the true stunning beauty she was. Because after the “I love Lucy” show…they never remembered “Lucille” everyone always wanted “Lucy”.

Anyway, that is my Monday 5 for today, I hope you like it. Regardless let me know what you think, comment your 5 or post and link it back here…One of the great things about lists is, everyone else’s list is different than yours. ;)

  1. Well…. at least Mae West and Kim Cattrall have BODIES that aren’t stick thin. :P

Interesting the Lucille is your #1. I would have never guessed that.

I did like the one movie she did with the pull behind trailer and she was hiding all the rocks in it. That was funny! ;)

+++ Lucille had a depth of talent that I think went untouched, and that says something. though I wouldn’t consider ANY of these women ‘stick thin’, and certainly not Lucille. I suppose its all about perspective.

  2. You have very strange taste in women… but I will admit what these women have in common is a sassy attitude and an innocent dorky charm…

+++ I don’t know about Mae West and ‘innocent/dorky’ but it is certainly true I have an eclectic taste…in most everything….including women.

  3. I am totally with you on Helen Hunt. I would add Elizabeth Shue “Don’t F*** with the babysitter”

+++ An excellent line…ES didn’t get a lot of the roles I thought she could have played either…but hey, she’s not the first woman who’s career Tom Cruise has ruined

  4. incredible woman& body @ 51
she puts girls 1/2 her age to same

  5. You obviously haven’t done your research on Mae West. She was so ditzy and dumb that she couldn’t memorize any of her lines. She wore an earpeice and a stagehand read her the lines (word for word) via short-wave radio! Nothing to admire there!

***Lori – you admire who you want and I will admire who I want…who knows…maybe I like sassy ditzy chicks…(ditzy not “Dixie”) – its all a choice. Thanks for stopping by, next time though try a little less harshness.
