I could post something snappy and witty….(or I could try to) – but this pretty much says it all….

Doesn’t Ford realize that doing “whatever it takes” to get this little gem over here would be worth its weight in gold in good PR for them….bah!
Finally Ford has the opprotunity to really do something cool and good…instead they’ll stick their corporate thumbs up their bums and piss it away!
A classic example of Corperate stupidity.

Great Blog post. I am going to bookmark and read more often. I love the Blog template … if you need any assistance customizing it let me know!
Insane. And the Big Three wonder why they are doing so poorly.
I am interested in Honda’s natural gas car they are opening up to general distribution in 2010.
The Volkswagon Diesal bug gets 50mpg. The old Geo Metro got 50 mpg. Granted it was a POS but with a little tweaking it could be put back into production.
I’m with you though. Not selling it over here because it runs on diesal is pretty much cutting off the nose to spite the face.
It’s not like they would have to put new infrastructure here to support Diesal.
Oh – btw – my 1992 Honda Civic VX got 40/50. Even after 13 years and 275K miles it was getting 40mpg highway and I had almost NO maintenance on that car.
They have been able to do this for YEARS.
I thought it was “Fix Or Repair Daily”
That only apply’s to the F.O.R.D. car model. The Trucks are a build tougher. Hence theMotto. I crushed three little “rice Burners” and bounces off a 18 wheeler with my ford Ranger and drove it home.
I will put money don that I will NEVER own another FORD Car. Truck, for sure.
+++ All, I agree with you its just crazy stuff. VERY frustrating. I know Ford is taking a beating financially, but even if they take a loss on this car it would do wonders for their PR, and may save them in the long run to produce it locally. – they don’t have to ‘build’ a new plant…they could just re-tool and open one of the ones they’ve closed!
+++ I used to drive a Metro – SUPER gas milage – 8 Galons filled the thing up and you went over 350+ miles before you needed to gas up again. Sad thing is, right now thats still $32 in gas.
+++ Found on Road Dead/Fix or repair daily – same same.
- Rangers were crap – I kinda like the Escape. and their bigger trucks are O.K. too. Of “American” vehicles I’m still a Chevy guy though.
Bring back the Geo!
I morn the day I let my Explorer go, with 250,000 miles on the original motor it was still going strong, instead I got a Volkswagen and thus began my tail of woe.
