I said to her, “You look chipper, you must have slept well.” Her reply “I slept like a baby”.

I looked confused and said – “So you woke up every two hours screaming because you had either pee’d or pooped yourself?  Sounds like a rough night to me!”

She laughed and said – ok, so I slept soundly, and not like a baby at all…

Now most years the numbers are pretty even ranging usually between 80 to 120 per side.  But what that “rank and file” fighter next to me doesn’t understand is the HUGE gap in the numbers of fighters each kingdom has.  Well thanks to Sir Omarad posting to this thread on the Armour Archive   we now have these numbers.

Meridies 431 Armoured Combat Fighters to the Midrealm’s 1996.  That means Meridies entire number of fighters is 22% of the size of the Midrealms.

So when we put forth great effort and bring 100 fighters to Border Raids, we bring 23% of our entire army. To match our numbers and the Dragon Kingdom brings 100 fighters, they bring 5% of their fighters.  IF they put fort the effort we do and brought 23% of their forces, it would be 459 fighters and we’d be outnumbered roughly 4-1.

That is just the way it is. It isn’t good or bad.  There is no point to this other than perspective.  and trying to give it to some folks.

There is other information to be gleaned from this, but its purely statistical and geeky….not that there are any geeks in the SCA.
