“Unarmed Does Not Mean Defenseless”   Leave a comment

What to do with an ‘unarmed’ opponent. (Unarmed does not mean defenseless)

If a fighter is just unarmed has no weapon. Don’t strike him…there is no honor in that.

If you are fighting and you disarm your opponent (knock his weapon away) you allow them to rearm.

· What if the disarming happened because of a combo on your part? – IF you knock your opponents’ weapon away, and they are disarmed (and do not have a secondary or backup weapon) do not strike them, they are not a threat.

· What if the combo takes their Sword arm? – Then its part of a combo, and they were still fighting while the next shot landed, then accept he victory. (unarmed does not mean defenseless)

· What if they have a backup weapon (you know some people carry a “fish bat” as a backup weapon) and lose their weapon. – If they have a backup weapon, then they are not unarmed, so long as they are still armored legally, you may continue to whack them. you may choose to allow them to re-arm, with either the backup weapon or the ‘lost’ weapon.

· What about in a Melee? All bets are off, if they are coming after you, then they are fair game (Unarmed does not mean defenseless)…if the time is available, then allowing them to rearm is the chivalrous thing to do.

Any other questions?
